All Mapped Out

We love a map as wall decor in a boy's room, or in any room for that matter...
Love the cover of this book Room for Children by Susanna Salk

Two huge maps that we like are under $150 and would be all the art you would need for a room..

There is also a great one at Ikea

Girl's Bedroom: Finished?

The girl's room is almost done...I am trying to resist the urge to
put anything else back in as I know they will add their own crap things as time goes on:)
I ordered a yard of pink chevron and covered their bulletin board
I tried to consolidate and hide the American Girl Doll stuff as best I could, and I kept the art because they love it and it keeps the room from being too grown up..they are only 6 and 8 so there will be time for that
I found some great finds at Homegoods.
This mirror was $24.99
This lacquer box was $18
and the lamp I already showed you...
I am now looking for the perfect silhouette print on etsy
to bring in that element from the inspiration room...
these are some I am considering
stella and hodge
nella designs
I also love this one...
from pretty mod
and maybe a personalized sham like this one from Pottery Barn Teen but in Pink...
Today is their official first day of summer so I am "finished" for now:) Wish me luck with that!

Gather 'Round

I think I'll add a cozy little place like this to my imaginary house... A Circle (or square) of comfy chairs.  A great place to just hang out and be together ...or alone!

Girl's Bedroom (sneak peak)

I struggle with my girl's room. It is small, they share it, and it is full of  crap  clutter they have collected from Chuck E. Cheese or Build a Bear...I had to do something.
I started with an inspiration room...
images fromTraditional Home
This is the room before...
Scary right? I started with paint...
Benjamin Moore Seaside Blue, the color inspiration photo is Benjamin Moore Gulf Stream
but on the wall it had a lot of green and was clashing with the dresser
The next step was bedding...
I saw these from Pottery Barn Teen, thought they were super cute, the right color and much more affordable than the Quadrille Paradise Background on the headboard in the inspiration photo;)
Here is what they look like on the bed...
I found this lamp at Homegoods for $29.99
and my daughter talked dad into a lovely Betta fish she named "Steve July"...don't ask.
Thankfully she went with the color scheme:)
and then she wrote this...
Stay tuned for the finished product...put a  girl's bedroom sneak peak in your back pocket...
