It's dreary here in the Midwest today. Felt lik a little colorful pick-me-up. Here's some kitchen island inspiration. It seems like a project that wouldn't be too risky, but carries some serious punch.

I save my Christmas cards. All of them. Many people have come up with the idea of "ringing" them after the holidays, and because I only display them in a red/white striped bowel, I'm going to put them on a ring as they come in. (Not to mention, they'll be easier to "keep" after the holidays.)

World Market has a great shelving piece on super-sale right now. The Warner Shelf unit is only $179.99 (reg. $329 -save $150!) That's a lot of shelf for that price. It's substantial in weight and it can be used in so many places. When I ran into it, I began to go room-by-room in my head.
Now, the color is a liitttllle darker than this photo, but still a good shade.

Jen is really good with PDF stuff. me? not so much. She orders a lot of cute things this way, and we have just heard about little on-line shop called Caravan Shoppe. For the holidays they have great "chalkboard" prints, that you can get instantly. The file ranges from only $5.00 for one to a bundle pack for $12.00. You Can have it blown up at any Staples store -up to a 36x48 for about $10.00!
