Kris's House-Wants for 2010

Kris really wants new floors! Here in the hallway you see the 80's/90's oak floors...

We have of couple of ideas for changes...one is a new wood tone with this used brick...

Another option is going DARK...hmmm the problem with this is darker floor
means a darker bannister, darker risers, etc... you get the jist...

And as she sits in a winter storm, she is dreaming of THIS view...

instead of THIS one...

Jen's House-Wants for 2010

I got a laptop for Christmas (WOO HOO! Okay not a MacBook, like on my list, but I think that might
have been too much computer for me anyway;)
Thank you to Santa, now I can blog form anywhere in the house! (which is key because what was going on in other parts of the house with 3 kids unattended while I was in the office blogging was not pretty)
But I would love a place for the laptop to call home, so this is where I am blogging from now...

This is what I really want, a built in desk/workstation...

And the perfect place for it to go, right next to my kitchen, and in front of this window...

Next, I would love to put some french doors in between my hallway and great room because it is NOISY when the kids are up and mommy is not:)
I believe this could make for much longer naps for my little man too, which would mean more finds to put in your back pocket:)

These are the perfect color and look...

Kris is getting together her house-wants for the new year...
but we want to know what you want to do in 2010?

Check This Out!

We told you we loved mags and now there is a new ONLINE design magazine from one of the editors of Domino! It's called Lonny and the link is http://www.lonnymag.com/. They say "We believe that good design and affordable design can coexist and that true inspiration can be found in the teeniest of homes or in the grandest of spaces" and we couldn't agree more!

Rug Yearn

A graphic print rug can add instant interest and completely update your space! The images of rooms above are from House Beautiful and Domino  and many of the rugs in them can be found at Elsoncompany.com...but be warned, they are designer rugs with designer price tags...so we found you less expensive options (because that's the way we roll..) at Homedecorators.com and Westelm.com. Jen wants a chevron runner for her hallway so badly!! Stay tuned for our Dash and Albert rug lovefest coming soon...put these in your back pocket...

Feliz Navidad from Arizona!

Okay we both are magazine junkies...LOVE THEM...and we WERE both subscribers and cover to cover readers of Cottage Living and Domino...both great mags that are now sadly no longer with us... Sooooo the magazine publishers have been sending me Sunset magazine instead (really people, couldn't you have subbed Coastal Living instead of Sunset? Can't a girl dream?) and the December issue had what I thought was a great idea for a Christmas Party with a twist...Fun and easy Desert-Mex party. Yummy food, bright colors and the best looking margs...YUM!

Cranberry Margaritas

Okay it is kinda chilly to be putting your feet in the pool, but doesn't this look fun! Maybe we move this party inside:)

Easy, yummy food like guacamole, taquitos, fresh salsa, chips are all crowd pleasers...

How about an adult pinata! This one is modern and get creative with what is inside!

What amazing colors in the decorations...and a $2.95 per candle, you have got a great take home treat!
(mexgrocer.com or any Walmart in Phoenix:)
If you don't have this party for Christmas then put it in your back pocket for another day and send us and invite!!

Crazy for Scout...

We have been CRAZYabout Scout bags for awhile as they are so useful, fashionable and affordable! The most expensive bag here is $43 and that is for the Four Boys Bag which is HUGE and so great for traveling with kids. They are easy to spot at baggage claim, fold flat when you are not using them, are made of a durable polywoven fabric that is water resistant and can be wiped clean. We really want The Weekender and a vacation to go with it:)...check them all out at bungalowco.com.
