Currently Hoarding...Fabrics

We buy fabric.  Yep, sometimes just a yard or two but we love to buy it.  We're never quite sure what we are going to make with the fabric, (maybe new pillows-easy envelope-back ones of course, bulliten board, shower curtain, seat cover, etc.) but a cool fabric is always a treat.  In fact we have stacks of fabric pieces.  Sometimes we just can't help ourselves....
There are so many great websites that carry fresh, modern, hip and (more importantly) affordable fabrics.  One site we love is Lewis and Sheron Textiles Co.   Above are a couple that the nice UPS man delivered just today.  I'm thinking some new pillows for my currently all-white bed...
What would you make?

We'll-See-Ya at Ikea...!

It is time for a spring trip to Ikea and here is what to look for...
These napkins are $1.99 for, like, a billion and  the cups are $1.49 for 18.
They would be perfect with red for all your summer celebrations,

or rock them with yellow like Grace did

check out the bedding...
Each for under $30.00!

I have these duvets for my daughter's room....

Pick up an adorable throw...$7.99 each!

then grab some handy totes..
This handy polka dot bin is only $1.99.
These striped bins only $2.99...nice.
and use them for toys, laundry or recycling like this...

This entire trip can cost you less than $50...that's what I'm talkin' about!
*Note these can all be located in the "Marketplace" section of the store, not in those goshforsaken warehouse aisles where you will wander aimlessly looking for Aisle D1%2*01#9!!

Overdue Redo

Anyone that has done a remodel knows there are A LOT of decisions that need to be made. When we did ours I was a little overwhelmed and made some "temporary choices", like this chandelier that went above my dining table...
Well, "temporary" turned into almost three years (Whoops) and then the canopy wouldn't stay up...
Lovely...always nice when you have company over for the first time who had their house in Phoenix Home and Garden...
this gave me the nudge I needed to get a new light fixture!
These pictures were the inspiration...

I love the "casualness" about the lanterns and how they are traditional without being expected,
so I found what I thought would be the right size and color for my space...
The lantern fixture is from here, was $139 and I think achieves the look I was going for...
Do you have an overdue redo to put in your back pocket?

Cuff Love

We must admit, most of our day-to-day "uniforms" consists of basics- (jeans, t-shirts, etc.) but we are loving the pairing of a great, chunky bracelet with that white tank, jeans, and sandals to add a little interest and style. Here are a couple of favorites...
Top 3 cuffs from Martin & Osa, Next 2 from J.Crew, Cuff w/ Orange Beads from Nordstrom, Last 2,
Martin1206 at Etsy, BeadSiam at Etsy. Other images from Calypso.
